My grandma pulled me aside when I was visiting her earlier this month. She said, "I have to talk to you." (Please read with a milky southern mixed grandma accent). Told me I shouldn't wait for the missionary I was waiting for, because, "Those boys-- they come back and it never works." I'd be thrilled if things worked out with my missionary...or rather surprised, as I don't actually have one.
She told me I've got a good personality and I can cook. I refrained from recounting the time I put a roll in the microwave for 20 minutes rather than 20 seconds and nearly smoked out the entire apartment complex. Or the time I pulled out the tater tots to show my Japanese friends what I meant by "tater tot", and they were black. Or the time(s) (Amanda will be my witness) that I left the broccoli boiling so long the water evaporated entirely and the broccoli turned a nice charcoal ebony.
But, grandma's got faith in me. She says I can read those boys and know what'll get them. "Sometimes they're real dumb, and you've got to let them know they're in love with you."
I have a cousin who, when he came home from his mission, went to a ward activity and met a girl. She walked up to him, said something about his coming back recently, and kissed him right on the lips. That was the end of that. They were married and are working on the happily ever after. I think she may have taken grandma's words to heart.
However, Grandma says I don't need to do anything that drastic.

Did she call you Kristi, Lori, or Lark?
Grandma is a very wise woman, no matter if she knows who you are or your situation. I would advise taking her advice to heart.
You should try it. If nothing else, it would certainly spice things up.
