My first REAL art opening, in a museum and all, and I missed it. I had no idea it was yesterday. There was free food and alcohol (not that I could have any), but REALLY! I missed every bit of it. I guess I'll have to make it out to the show with strawberry Werther's in my fanny pack and drink a Caprisun before going in. Ah man. I wonder what it was like.
There is a bright side to all this...in Art and Fear, the author speaks of how artists often stop producing and exhibiting their work after they've accomplished all they thought was possible for them. I wasn't there...so in my mind the goal is not accomplished. I won't fall into the trap...because I don't even know what real museum food looks like.

It's usually some kind of orange-ish cubular fermented dairy product with little toothpicks sticking out of it.
...the museum food, that is. Hardly worth a trip all the way to Springville.
