I feel like I'm living two lives. I sleep and socialize for an hour a day with college kids, and spend the rest of my life in a car commuting to a new place to spend all day with people I barely know. I'm adjusting surprisingly well. Nothing is better than the confidence and comfort that comes from sitting in a room you can call your own--even if it's in a school and eventually you'll share it with over 200 children. Except, maybe, the feeling that comes from knowing that next time I have bronchitis I can go to the doctor without forfeiting my food money for the month. (I'm not really that destitute. Except for now. I'll pay my first month's rent, and then I'll search the city for after-wedding celebrations to stuff my purse with finger foods.
(I'm not really that destitute either--).
When October rolls around, I'll be rolling too...
