I chose this place. There was a window; the room was large enough; the ceilings were high; the staircase was lovely; and there was a park in the back yard. I was satisfied.
I have not unpacked. There are boxes covering the walls and floor space. My closet is over flowing. I'm sleeping on a deflated air mattress. But, I'm satisfied.
I slept in this morning until eight. The light from the window awoke me--streaming in through a gap in the blinds--inviting me. I ventured out to take a stroll around the neighborhood.
Something important happened as I discovered a trail through a meadows--wild dessert brush and flowers--I realized this wild place was a gift for me; A pleasant surprise--I didn't really need. I'd made my list of needs: a window, personal space, washer and dryer, internet. I found it for $300, and then there was this paradise just across the street--a signing bonus.
