Last week we lost our match to a team that really wasn't all that incredible. AND, I realized something: I've just been putzing around waiting for someone to win the game for me. Talyn was happy to share I was the only one sacrificing my body for the team. "Sure," I thought, "I run around a lot, but am I really doing much?"
The answer is NO--in all caps.
So tonight, when we faced the three-time region champs and lost the first game 25-5, I began to visualize myself leaping six feet in the air to attack the ball as it gently passed the apex of it's massive arch, and Wha-BAM!--struck the unsuspecting faces of innocent standers by (really, players on the opposing team...) (really, really, I would never imagine anything so brutal). Then, after a close escape from a ball directed at the back of my head sent by a player on my own team, something clicked--
I played like mad, and after a few solid serves I shouted out in the direction of the ref, who was a little startled, "We have nine points? WE HAVE 9 POINTS!!!"
Hey, I'd take 9 over 5 any day.
We won 25-22. Excuse me, did I say "won"...well, it was a win in my mind--The first time in a long time that I realized a little healthy competition is good for the soul.
Next time, I plan on winning.

We lost the first game with 6 points not 5. You probably forgot about the one where I bumped the ball over so nicely that anybody could have gotten it, except miraculously they didn't.
Wasn't it crazy that I screamed at the score keeper. I am laughing now, but at the time it was serious business.
HAHA! And it completely distracted me. I thought, at first, you were shouting at the little boy to leave your coat alone. HAHA! Tonight was a good night. I'm laughing now as well, and not just in theory.
In fact, I can't stop. HAHA! "Give us the point! GIVE US THE POINT!"
Who are you, and what have you done with my sister?
I'll only be more serious on Thursday night.
